TDA is providing cost consultancy services for Taunton and Somerset Foundation Trust for their Musgrove Park Hospital project, in connection with an £80m project to develop the Trust’s critical care unit and operating theatres.
The proposed development includes 8 operating theatres, two of which are hybrid, 22 Level 1 critical care beds, endoscopy suites, a central sterile services department and outpatients and administration facilities.
TDA provides commercial advice to the Trust, working with the private sector to ensure value for money across the project. TDA provides essential skills and expertise to manage the capital and life cycle costs of the project through strategic procurement, contracts and programming.
TDA has assisted with the preparation of the outline business case, which has been approved by the Trust’s Board and NHSI, procured design consultants and the principal supply chain partner (PSCP) and proposed strategic programmes. The next steps are to work with the Trust towards a full business case and to agree a guaranteed maximum price with the PSCP.
